As a Christian at University, it is so important to get stuck into a local Church, and in Loughborough there are plenty to choose from! The CU is made up of students from lots of different Churches and even if we have different worship styles or use different Bible translations, we are united around the good news.

Here is a list of some (not all!!) Churches in Loughborough. If you are looking for a Church to join please come to CU and chat to students at different Churches and invite yourself along - we'd love to help you find a Church that suits you!

Please note that the below information may not be up to date with the latest COVID-19 related changes. For  the most up to date information, we recommend visiting the churches' websites.

Loughborough Churches

Emmanuel Church

We are an Evangelical Charismatic church within the Church of England. We are a vibrant and growing church, centered on Jesus. We’d love you to join our church family, to learn more through God’s word and growing in fellowship with a home away from home.

COVID has impacted on many things, but not the love and fellowship at Emmanuel. Currently we are holding two services from our church building, a formal communion service in the morning at 10 and a more informal service held in the evening at half 6, as well as maintaining an online presence on our YouTube channel. We will be doing things slightly differently this year with regard to students, but we’d love to make you a part of that and help you to feel settled in what is often an unsettling time for many of us.

Holywell Church

We're a church of about 180 people on the south-west side of Loughborough (not far from the uni library).  We are a mixture of different ages and nationalities.

We are an evangelical church, which means we put the emphasis on the gospel - the good news of Jesus giving salvation from sin and reconciliation with God.  It also means we take seriously the Bible being our authority.

At the moment we meet at the church on Sundays at 10:30am; at 6:30pm we’re on-line but hope to meet in person by October.  On Thursday evenings (8pm) we alternate between prayer-meetings (at the church) and home groups (currently over Zoom).

You would be very welcome to turn up on a Sunday morning and find out what we're like.  If you would like to find out more:

We have two Sunday services, multiple small groups running throughout the week, plus regular young adults events as well as men’s and women’s ministries. On Sunday mornings we are currently joining together in small groups to watch the service and fellowship together – get in touch with Kate if you’d like to join us, we’d love to have you!

The Well Church

At The Well Church, we're keen to see students embedded in and get to know members of all ages within the church, because we believe church should be a family who build each other up in discipleship to help reach out to others and see lives transformed through relationship with Jesus. We have around 20 current students and are excited to welcome them back and new students in. We're continuing to worship online at 10:30am every Sunday on Facebook (@wellchurchloughborough) and YouTube (Well Church Loughborough) with small group discussions afterwards on Zoom.

To help new students connect, we're hosting 'watch-alongs' at 10:15 The Ashby Road Community Centre just off campus to meet with you face-to-face and help you get to know us and us you - face masks are required and social distancing will be observed along with Covid-19 Secure and NHS Track and Trace procedures. We’re a community with a strong discipleship culture, a spirit of empowerment and encouragement to outwork what God has called you to do. We equip and release young leaders with plenty of opportunities to serve and grow your giftings.

We are Evangelical, meaning we are all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

We believe the Bible is God’s Word about His Son Jesus Christ. We believe God speaks

through His Word – so we preach and teach the Bible.

We are Reformed which means we stand within the tradition of the historic creeds and

confessions (i.e. statements of faith) of the church, especially those from the

reformation and post reformation eras.

We meet at 3pm on Sundays. Our church address is:_

25a Herbert Street
