As a Christian at University, it is so important to get stuck into a local Church, and in Loughborough there are plenty to choose from! The CU is made up of students from lots of different Churches and even if we have different worship styles or use different Bible translations, we are united around the good news.

Here is a list of some (not all!!) Churches in Loughborough. If you are looking for a Church to join please come to CU and chat to students at different Churches and invite yourself along - we'd love to help you find a Church that suits you!

Please note that the below information may not be up to date with the latest COVID-19 related changes. For  the most up to date information, we recommend visiting the churches' websites.

Loughborough Churches

Emmanuel Church

We're an evangelical Anglican church on Forest Road, an easy walkable distance from campus. Each Sunday we gather together as a church family to worship together and hear the word of God preached. We'd love for you to settle with us and find a home away from home.

We have 3 services on a Sunday (9am, 11am and 6.30pm). On Thursday evenings we have a student bible study at the church building. We meet at 6.30pm to fellowship together, read and study the Bible and pray together.

Contact us for more information:

Holywell Church

We're a church of about 180 people on the south-west side of Loughborough (not far from the uni library).  We are a mixture of different ages and nationalities.

We are an evangelical church, which means we put the emphasis on the gospel - the good news of Jesus giving salvation from sin and reconciliation with God.  It also means we take seriously the Bible being our authority.

At the moment we meet at the church on Sundays at 10:30am and at 6:30pm at:

Holywell Free Church, Berkeley Rd, Loughborough, LE11 3SJ.

Services are also currently streamed on-line for those who can't make it to the building. On Thursday evenings (8pm) we alternate between prayer-meetings (at the church) and home groups (which meet in a mixture of homes and on-line).

We aim to provide every student with a warm welcome, and also offer weekly lunches, group Bible studies, and regular one to one meetings. You would be very welcome to turn up on a Sunday morning and find out what we're like.

The Well Church

At The Well Church, we're keen to see students embedded in and get to know members of all ages within the church, because we believe church should be a family who build each other up in discipleship to help reach out to others and see lives transformed through relationship with Jesus. We have around 20 current students and are excited to welcome them back and new students in. We're continuing to worship online at 10:30am every Sunday on Facebook (@wellchurchloughborough) and YouTube (Well Church Loughborough) with small group discussions afterwards on Zoom.

To help new students connect, we're hosting 'watch-alongs' at 10:15 The Ashby Road Community Centre just off campus to meet with you face-to-face and help you get to know us and us you - face masks are required and social distancing will be observed along with Covid-19 Secure and NHS Track and Trace procedures.

Open Heaven

At Open Heaven Church we’re all about making disciples who establish heaven on earth. Students are central to our DNA, we birthed out of a move of God through students on campus over 20 years ago.

We’re a community with a strong discipleship culture, a spirit of empowerment and encouragement to outwork what God has called you to do. We equip and release young leaders with plenty of opportunities to serve and grow your giftings.

Our gatherings are Sundays 4.30pm in the Students Union on campus. Check out YouTube and Instagram for information on everything else.
