churches
As a Christian at University, it is so important to get stuck into a local Church, and in Loughborough there are plenty to choose from! The CU is made up of students from lots of different Churches and even if we have different worship styles or use different Bible translations, we are united around the good news.
Here is a list of some (not all!!) Churches in Loughborough. If you are looking for a Church to join please come to CU and chat to students at different Churches and invite yourself along - we'd love to help you find a Church that suits you!
Loughborough Churches
Emmanuel Church
We're an evangelical Anglican church on Forest Road, an easy walkable distance from campus. Each Sunday we gather together as a church family to worship together and hear the word of God preached. We'd love for you to settle with us and find a home away from home.
We have 3 services on a Sunday (9am, 11am and 6.30pm). On Thursday evenings we have a student bible study at the church building. We meet at 6.30pm to fellowship together, read and study the Bible and pray together.

Holywell Church

We're a church of about 180 people on the south-west side of Loughborough (not far from the uni library). We are a mixture of different ages and nationalities.
We are an evangelical church, which means we put the emphasis on the gospel - the good news of Jesus giving salvation from sin and reconciliation with God. It also means we take seriously the Bible being our authority.
At the moment we meet at the church on Sundays at 10:30am and at 6:30pm at:
Holywell Free Church, Berkeley Rd, Loughborough, LE11 3SJ.
Services are also currently streamed on-line for those who can't make it to the building. On Thursday evenings (8pm) we alternate between prayer-meetings (at the church) and home groups (which meet in a mixture of homes and on-line).
We aim to provide every student with a warm welcome, and also offer weekly lunches, group Bible studies, and regular one to one meetings. You would be very welcome to turn up on a Sunday morning and find out what we're like.

We’re a community with a strong discipleship culture, a spirit of empowerment, and encouragement to outwork what God has called you to do. We equip and release young leaders with plenty of opportunities to serve and grow your giftings.
Our OH1 gatherings during term time are Sundays at 4.30pm in the Students Union on campus, and we also live stream them out at live.openheaven.org. Check out YouTube and Instagram to find out more about us and see what we get up to.

New Life

New Life community Church is a gospel centred, Bible believing, church. Our goal is to know and love Jesus as much as is humanly possible, and to reach out with the gospel in every way we can.
We have a very active Foodbank that people can help out at, and we run a debt centre to show the love of Christ as well as share the gospel. If you want to grow strong in your faith then we can help with that.
We have two physical services 10.30am and 6pm, which you would need to register for by texting 07475 891881. You can contact me (Pastor) on 07966 414888
SHEPSHED WORD OF LIFE CHURCH

We are an independent Bible-believing Baptist church located 3 miles from campus.
Students are very welcome to join with us in worship and other meetings. We are more than happy to arrange car lifts to help, and we also like to provide Sunday lunch in church members’ homes for those who are interested!
Our central focus is on the good news we have in the Bible, of God the Father sending his only Son Jesus into our world to die in our place, and to free us from the penalty of our sin.
We are very blessed by a new and modern building constructed during the Covid year of 2020, allowing a regular programme of meetings for different groups in a great setting.
Our desire is to reach out to the local community with the love of Jesus, and that includes newcomers to our area, as well as longstanding neighbours.
Our worship style is fairly traditional, with a mix of both old and new songs, with an emphasis on teaching and preaching from the Bible, which is where we believe God’s presence can be especially made known to us.
As well as desiring to provide students with a local church family, we would hope that there might also be opportunities for students to contribute in service within the church.
Our regular Sunday meetings are 10:30 am and 6pm, and we also have a prayer and bible study time at 7:30pm on a Thursday.
Do check out our website, and contact us if you have any questions.
